We need a working and functional Word processor that can work on a 586. OpenOffice 1.1.4: It is great on Word compatibility. Probably the best Koffice: this has been suggested to me. However no word compatibility. Abiword: Like Koffice it is lightweight and robust. However it can only Portable Open office? Either way any tips that people find then let us know. word: is refering to a very common word processor.
The point of Ubuntu Lite is not just to make a working OS but a useable
one. So far here are the alternatives.
out there. However it is very laggy and slow. It is almost unusable. We
need to configure it to speed it up.
It does run well though and looks good.
read word documents. It cannot write to word (inspite of the doc save
function, which can be read by openoffice). I have seen it lock up
though.
