OK, one thing I'd note looking at that is that you have a weird disk
config. 2GB primary master, 4G secondary master, CD as primary slave.
I suggest you swap around #2 & #3, so that both hard disks are on the
primary & the CD's on the secondary. Many older chipsets can't do DMA
to a hard disk if there's an ATAPI device - i.e., a CD - on the same

I guess it's been awhile, should have followed up. The card I'm
working with is a NE2000 compatible ISA NIC adapter with a realtek
RLT8019AS chipset. I've gotten it to show up under ifconfig -a when I
run modprobe ne and after I add ne to the /etc/modules listing, but
not under the standard ifconfig. What utility does ubuntu-lite use or
