No posts at all during August according to Google Groups - first time since the group was created!
I did try to get a discussion going last time I was around. People moaned that I was posting the same thing over and over again, but they didn't do anything to take the discussion off in a different direction. Is there any point in bothering?

Well, obviously a few people still subscribe, but mostly nobody bothers to post. Presumably, they are placing there new content somewhere more lively, and just keeping a weather eye on ssm in case something happens.
I'm still reading some other usenet groups, but not much traffic there. I had to unsubscribe from alt.home.repair, mainly because every thread turned into Obama-bashing and the amount of spam. With people who would *reply* "F--- Off, Spammer!" top-posting while *quoting* the entire spam, sometimes a months-old one.
I have joined some web-based forums, mainly to discuss work poo and chinchilla poo, topics which might not garner much interest on ssm. I don't like the web-based stuff as well as usenet, but the moderation and lack of spam/velveeta is welcome.
I did learn recently that hitting the <esc> key in Firefox will stop all the gibbering, blinking animated smilies. What a relief!
OK, I have to get ready for poo, I mean work. Girl spilled water-a *lot* of water in her black Macbook yesterday. It wasn't on at the time, so she promptly turned it on "to see if it was OK". Bad Idea Jeans. There's water leaking out of the case, and applying power seems like the thing to do? *sigh*

I've never been a new content generator. I just follow up to others. C'mon, someone post something stupid, already!

I'm sure that's a first.
Has anybody else ever noted a shortage of stupidity on the net?

I *adore* Glee. Enough that I've come to terms with NBC for yanking it away from us this summer to shift it to their fall schedule when they realized exactly how much we all loved it. (I was PISSED!!)

I'm beginning to question that. Isabelle is presenting...challenges. I'm not sure if it's her, or if I'm spoiled from years of training herding dogs or herding dog mixes.
