Subject: matching funds for Aussie govmnt grants
Interesing turn of events here in Oz,

The government is providing some starter funding for a space science
program.  $40 million in total awards, as 50% matching funds.
Collaboration between university and industry are specifically
encouraged.  Proposals open this August.

Details for those interested:

We're used to writing these kinds of proposals in the USA (NASA,
DARPA, AFRL etc), but haven't done them here yet.  Questions I have
are about matching funds in Australia.  Specifically, if they are
providing funding, can we use equivalent contribution as part of our
50%?  i.e., sweat equity, IP, etc.?  Anyone on this group got
experience with this sort of thing?

Thanks
Jason Held
