My business needs to transfer a large slab of $AU to $USD - has anyone
looked into the way to do this and get the best exchange rate? I have
heard it's best to do the conversion in Australia...

Subject: [SiliconBeach] Best way to transfer $AU to $USD
Hi all
My business needs to transfer a large slab of $AU to $USD - has anyone
looked into the way to do this and get the best exchange rate? I have
heard it's best to do the conversion in Australia...
There are no fees - and you get to see a live quote before you commit.
Super easy to use.
Once you've committed you transfer the funds to an Australian bank
account, and they transfer it to the nominated account. There is a
minimum however of about $3,200 AUD per transaction.
We've used it a few times to send AUD -> USD to China and it has
worked really well.

We use AFEX to repatriate invoice payments in foreign currencies from
customers around the world back to our Australian bank account. They
offer good exchange rates and low fees ($10 per trade).
I assume they offer a service to do what you need to do.

Here are two Australian companies that I have experience using.
We have used http://www.ozforex.com.au/ for bringing our personal
money out of the US (but they can work the other way too). Great
rates, great service (much more professional than the crappy web site
would suggest)
My company also uses http://axisodl.com.au/. Also a cheesy wesite,
but great rates and excellent customer service. Ask to talk to Ben
(either one) or Ed.
