Subject: Silicon Beach Melbourne Cup Lunch
Following on from my earlier argument that to qualify as an Australian
startup you have to take the afternoon off to watch the Melbourne Cup,
is anyone up for a Silicon Beach Melbourne cup lunch. If like me
you're working in a company with only a handful of people you'll
probably find it hard to summon up the atmosphere necessary to get
excited over a herd of horses running round a field with little men on
their backs. The format I'd suggest is lunch and drinks followed by
high stakes gambling in a pub somewhere in the city.

If anyone is interested then we can set up an Upcoming event and look
for a suitable pub.

ok this is a totally outrageous and unrelated (waiting for insults to be
hurled at me)... should we change the prefix of the group from "silicon" to
somethign more relevant to this day and age (wouldnt say locality because
the "beach" says it all!)...  especially siliconvalley got its name from the
treacherous 8 coming out from Shockley's own startup...

just a thought... (especially we have built quite a brand with
SiliconBeach!!)
