Subject: Fun with your hearing aids.

Hi all,

I was just wondering why do hearing aids have to look so boring?

Can't they design ones with a bit of bling.

Check this link out I found of a picture where a hearing aid user decorated
her own hearing aids, they look fabulous!

http://www.alldeaf.com/hearing-aids-cochlear-implants/60310-my-super-...
inged-out-hearing-aids.html

What does everyone else think out there??

It's not fair when you still feel young but your hearing aids look like
something grandma wears.

Has anyone out there decorated there hearing aids and like to tell us what
they've done to individualise them?

Thanks,
Scrunch.

My daughter had something similar - light purple Has, and stuck diamantes
all over them, and my son had red Has with blue moulds - to match his soccer
uniform

siemens makes a discrete hearing aid, yet makes it "loud" by creating loud
designs...

http://hearing.siemens.com/en/04-products/20-vibe/vibe.jsp

These are a bit limited in performace, but for mild hearing losses
apparently they cope quite well, features like T-loop and bluetooth are not
able to be packed into such a tiny gizmo...

another example of how "not to hide"...

Wow they are pretty cool!

Here's a contestent for the James Dyson Design Award -
http://student.designawards.com.au/application_detail.jsp?status=3&ap...
  called the wire-ear

and some other designs -
http://stanford.wellsphere.com/hearing-loss-deafness-article/cool-hea...

i guess hearing aids are limited only by the designers imagination.

Hi Christian,

Yeah, like those modern designs.

With the wire-ear wonder if it's waterproof?

Is the wire-ear available or is it just at concept stage?

Love when people think outside the square.  I had also seen hearing aids a
while back that looked like earrings.

Can't see why hearing aids can't look more like accessories people that wear
glasses have so many choices so should we!

Scrunch.
