All three of my screencasts on How and Why we do proofs are now available on YouTube: see the Nottingham University YouTube channel Maths playlist at http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=A9721D7E1FB7CD34&sort_field=a... My Hilbert's Hotel movie "Beyond Infinity?" is also available there. Best wishes, Joel Feinstein

Mathematicians do proofs for the simple reason that they're history's only example of a tribe of uneducable recursive sycophants who believe that digital, dsp, architecture, engineering, computer architecture, amd Neptunian Cloud cover are all the same thing.
Physicists do proofs, since they're nature only example of Qwerty Stooges who believe continuums are the same thing as flux.
Computer Scientists do proofs, since they're the only morons in existence that believe CMOS is a proof anywhere other than Mexico.
