Subject: How and Why we do proofs
Hi everyone,
I have recently made screencasts available of two of my sessions for
second-year honours maths students at Nottingham on How and Why we do
proofs.
See
http://wirksworthii.nottingham.ac.uk/webcast/maths/G12MAN-09-10/Why-P...
and
http://wirksworthii.nottingham.ac.uk/webcast/maths/G12MAN-09-10/How-P...
“Why do we do proofs?” is now also available on the Nottingham You-
Tube channel at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqZ3yhBJmWA
"How do we do proofs (PArt I)" should also be available on You-Tube
shortly.
Best wishes,
   Joel Feinstein

My Hilbert's Hotel movie "Beyond Infinity?" is also available there.

Mathematicians do proofs for the simple reason that they're
history's only example of a tribe of uneducable recursive sycophants
who believe
that digital, dsp, architecture, engineering, computer architecture,
amd Neptunian Cloud cover are all the same thing.

Physicists do proofs, since they're nature only example
of Qwerty Stooges who believe continuums are the same
  thing as flux.

Computer Scientists do proofs, since they're the only
morons in existence that believe CMOS is a proof
  anywhere other than Mexico.
