I'd vote more frequently than that, actually, but maybe just in addition to
the normal meetups? Every second or third month on the off-fortnight? I
always like sharing ideas/practices/war stories among intelligent people
with a common interest in a tech. Also, religious arguments. Oh, and beer.

Thanks to everyone who came along during this first year of the
Melbourne Scala User Group and helped make it what it is (a great
place to learn about Git, Selenium and managing State in the Web
tier).

I very much enjoyed myself tonight and Im sure I wasn't the only one.
Im wondering if it's worth making a pub night a more regular fixture,

To me, the distinction is not about storage, its about visibility of
the change to others. That happens when "pushing to the db". ie end of
a long-running transaction.
In Wicket for example, what I called "the uncommitted copy" need not
