A while ago I stumbled onto a great web site that listed a ton of different
SLR lenses in its data base along with example pictures taken with that
lens.
I have lost the URL for this web site. Anyone have this site?
Tks
Brian
------------------------------ ------------------------------ -----------------------------

In short: Stop obsessing over the camera's supposed shortcomings. The
specific equipment DOESN'T MATTER! Worry instead about composing and
taking good pictures.
Heed his warning! ;)
Whatever you do, DO NOT visit
[link]
[link]

Don't be so quick to write of the Canon Rebel Ti (aka 300V).
If I were you I'd first ask what you are using the camera for. If its
landscapes and portraits then it really is worth thinking of going
digital because you can't beat them for this kind of photography. If
its wildlife/sports/action then you aren't going to get anything that

My advice is that you first evaluate your priorities, and get your
lifestyle into better shape.
You need to get out of debt, before you purchase unnecessary camera
gear.
Let's see now...
You write that during the past ten months you were able to pay only
20% of the US$708 (Sony Cybershot DSC-F717 camera) cost, and yet you

Thanks all for the suggestions. Seems I may have gotten a little mixed
up with the percentage. I've seen an ad for ICE to be used with the
scanning. Isn't that a plug-in for Photoshop? It might actually be
cheaper for me to buy a plane ticket back to Hawaii and shot again. I've
got family there so, hotel is cheap.

Don't know if it would help, but Rite Aid has a 70% rubbing alcohol that's
Ethyl alcohol. it's their product # 11822-31386, and it comes in a 1 pint
bottle. I use it to clean my trumpet, because the smell of isopropyl alcohol
makes me sick

Usually removing fungus from a slide leaves clear spots - the fungus has
eaten the original emulsion. The best thing to do is either scan with ICE or
remove the spots in Photoshop after scanning. Usually it takes a combination
of the two if the fungus is very bad.
