I would suggest the Gossen Digisix. It is very small, costs about $110US and does both reflected and incident measurements. You probably won't need to use the sekonic spot metering feature until you are much more advanced, and maybe even not then.

The old Gossen Luna Pro was the standard for a long while and Gossens are well thought of. But a spot meter is really a more specialized animal and is used pretty heavily by Ansel Adams/Fred Picknose purists. I'd start with a less expensive one and keep it as a backup when you get more advanced.
