Subject: Digital insert?
Wondering would it be possible to invent a digital insert for 35mm
cameras. It would slip into in the back where the film goes and record
images in digital format. The frame would be some sort of charge
coupled surface. There would be an SD card and battery. Imagine it
would be simple and hopefully inexpensive if feasible.

Retailers in my area are giving up stocking 35mm film and some of
those that still do only offer ASA 400. I'd like to continue using my
35mm SLR cameras. Would be great if they could be converted to digital
before film disappears entirely.

Silicon film's website is now down too.

Would have been an interesting product if it had worked.  I still am
able to find 200, 400 and 800 speed film with little problem in local
stores.  B&H has 100 speed.  Even 400 and 800 speed film for my APS
slrs isn't really a problem either.

Now, finding film for my Minolta and Pentax 110 slrs is getting to be
a real challenge.

Where are you buying the 110 film?
Ever since Walmart stopped selling it I have been using my refrigerator stock
for my Pentax Auto 110.

I've mostly been using refrigerrator stock as well.  I buy some on
E-bay, though not as much as I used to.  This site seems to continue
to have some in stock:

I also bought a film splitter on E-bay, and have created a couple of
what I hope will be refillable 110 cassettes.  I haven't yet tried the
experiment of actually slitting 35 mm. film and filling the cassettes
though.

Thanks for the links.
Product doesn't look technically or economically marketable.
Shame. I think there would be a huge market for a reasonable product.
I'm finding great deals on 35mm cameras at rummage and garage sales.
Bought 5 for $10 at one rummage sale last spring. One is a Minotla SR-
T-102
manual with a 70-300 zoom lens.
