Diluted D-76 & Imporved D-76 at dilution

Is it possible that my home brewed, 'improved,' no hydroquinone D-76
would be less active at 1:3 dilution than standard, out of the box
D-76? Although my home made D-76 compares favorably with store bought
D-76, results at 1:3 seem underdeveloped.

I know it's possible to purchase "B&W" inks comprised of black with shades
of gray to replace the Cc,M,Y, cartridges in my old Epson 1270, but I don't
know where to buy inks with a good reputation for this purpose.

Ferricyanide and RC Paper

I plan to experiment with cleaning up print highlights this weekend
via ferricyanide solution & refixing, so I'm googling around for
whatever tips I can find. A thread on APUG suggests that this won't
work on RC prints, yet another assures that it will.

broke the red plastic, cam-shaped red slide for my rolleimatic enlarger.
Can't remember what it is called but it allows me to focus without
exposing my image. I anticipate that finding a replacement will be
extremely difficult so I would like to cut out a new one.

I have a question here that has even stumped the tech people at Kodak.
What we have (we are a small high school darkroom) is a cloudy black
silt in the fixer that leaves sooty stains on the prints. I am using
the recommended dilution for all chemicals. The developer is Dektol,

hold a 20" x 20" high-efficiency filter. I made the set-up reversible.
With negative pressure and filtered air coming in or positive pressure being

Thanks for the heads up. I was not aware that Harman acquired Kentmere.
Too bad about that Art line of papers - that was the paper recommended for
bromoil. And Harman also owns Ilford. hmmm...I see some kind of
