If you are considering a new digital camera, steer clear of AGFA products at all costs.
I bought a very expensive model 4 years ago (approx. US$1000). It now needs a very small part (~$5) to be functional. Despite 20 calls and 5 e-mails, to Agfa USA, Canada, and their reps., they steadfastly say, exactly: "We don't supply any parts for your camera". So I have $1000 worth of garbage!
Ok already, we heard the sad story, now grow up, move on, buy a new camera ( a 4 year old one is obsolete anyway, though it might make a good paperweight) and go out and take some pictures.

What's the point in posting this over and over? Who exactly do you think you are damaging? I doubt that there are many people here who own cameras with the Agfa brand associated with it, and even if they do...either they like them , or they don't. Your tale of woe isn't going to influence anyone.

I've been doing just that for about two weeks or so. Enough is enough. He has had many very reasonable answers to his problem and he is obviously not interested in solving anything. I just global killfiled him so I'll not be subjected to his pathetic whine again!

Ah, but barbarism is in the eye of the beholder. The Hords have spread over the world. Let's boycot the world.
By the way, not that it really matters, since approx. 39 years the Agfa-Gevaert group is a legal construction (both working companies holding 50% of the other's shares) of the former German Agfa and the former Belgian Gevaert companies. The daily operations are conducted from the Belgian headoffice in Mortsel, close to Antwerp, where the parent company is located as well.

Info Overload! BTW: How come no one here knew the answer to my little quiz above? I thought SOMEONE would get the AGFA connection. I don't think that they are in the photolab processing business, either...

I see you have dug a little deeper in the AGFA-Gevaert site. Good! ;-)
I agree Dave. $1000 item die's after only 4 years would piss me off to. That's more then a months income (Bachelors in Graphic Design & Associates in Computer Science) in the area of Idaho I live in. Median income in the area for a family of 4 is <$12k a year. Then again rent is only $340 for the 4 bedroom two bath house I'm in, so... it all kind of evens out, but still IT'S A $1000 DOWN THE TUBES!!!
