I don't see a way around that. Your tax dollars are paying for the
care of rapists (and all other less disgusting criminals) in prison as
well. That doesn't mean we should kill them all.

I'm not sure how right you have that. I know that Israel has made
deals of exchanging Palestinian prisoners for a smaller number of
Israeli soldiers. But I'm pretty sure that those Palestinian
prisoners haven't been convicted terrorists, much less have killed
anyone. I think they're in prison for minor offenses. But it was George Martin as well who got a session player to play
instead of Ringo. That seems to suggest his opinion of Ringo's
drumming wasn't much different than of Pete's.

If we really followed Christian tenets or the tenets of Judaism it
would be the same situation.
Whoever mothered Jesus was probably a 13 year old. But
it's not the religion that's evolved - it's the society that evolved.

I would like to hear you elaborate on the parallels between the Yates'
case and Hasan's. Just how is it that one reminds you of the other?
Just that both disgust you? Just that both took place in Texas? That
both used the insanity defense?
Or was Yates a jihadist? Or was Hasan killing his children?

Those of us who actually play this shit in bands, and have had the pleasure
of cranking thru maybe Witchy Woman or Life in the Fast Lane, in a nice
volume of a hard rock band that would probably make you crap your pants and
curl up into a fetal position crying for yo mama, some of us with that
experience do indeed find some of the Eagles to be rawking.

Actually, (though I hate to lend any creedence to this nonsense about
Yoko being an "originator" of punk) I was a big fan of the B-52s at
that time (1979 - 80) and DID notice that some of the vocalizations of
Cindy Wilson and Kate Pierson were (somewhat) similar to what Yoko had
done on her recordings. Though I doubt it was intentional.

If he was trying to say that he did not believe in the existence of
cancer, he was definitely bullshitting. Lennon's friend Richard Ross,
with whom he sailed and met Alexa Grace, was dying of cancer at the
time.
She also said in an interview with Mike Wallace that it was "nothing"
for her to be in the studio with the Beatles.
