I would assume they are unrelated. Either the casting of the spell woke you up or you just happened to wake up on that turn. Although I'm pretty new and haven't gotten anywhere close to meeting the Wizard, so I really can't say for sure.

Occasionally some "Yet Another Funny Message Combinations" are emitted by Nethack. It was my fault to not having put the YAFMC identifier in the subject, so my posting became probably a bit subtle for newbies. Just google for the YAFMC and you'll find some quite surprisingly good message combinations.
