just mention that
Clan DYWYPI welcomes all DevNull tournament players!   Just send me a
message
for an invite.  We do have some organizing principles, however, and if
you join we
expect that you will:

      1. Die in at least one game of nethack.
      2. There is no #2.

We take this obligation with great seriousness of purpose, since it
causes the name
of our clan to be printed for all the world to see! Members who ascend
every game they
play during the tournament will be given a stern talking to for
shirking their duties!

Interesting. I browsed through my log and pondered about that. Obviously
"killed by Famine (with the Amulet)" is an unlikely candidate for a
"favourite" death; proceeded far and died (most likely due to stupidity
or inattentiveness) at the gates of glory. <gasp>

I think any "favourite" candidate would be something that reflects the
inevitable fate, one where you even don't know how exactly it happened,
maybe "killed by a wand" (or some other unspecific death like that).

BTw, another puzzling discovery from my logfile were those two entries:
"killed by a dart" and
"poisoned by a little dart"
Hey, there are darts and little darts? Didn't notice that, yet.

The other candidate was my wizard who was running down through
Gehemmon. I entered a new level, I meant to cast magic mapping, but I
knew I'd failed to hit the right key to cast the spell. I stopped and
thought, 'well hitting escape won't hurt'. I then found out the hard
way that I'd hit 'finger of death' and that hitting escape basically
targets yourself and unlike a bounce, the effect will work through a
CoMR.

phragmites - ZAPM challenge completed, hoping for at least a birdie
this year (got a plastic star).

I think my "favorite" was my caveman who was killed on the Plane of
Earth by Earthlink (connection drop while trying to recover from a
previous drop) although technically I suppose it wasn't really a
DYWYPI.

Just a quick note for anyone playing in the tournament.   I have
whipped together a little perl to grab and munge the devnull logs, so
it is no longer necessary to email me about Clan DYWYPI.

All you need to do is die, and I will automatically (within a day)
send you an invite to Clan DYWYPI

How's that for service folks!

(Of course, you can still email me with your Fake Bio and preferred
death so that I can post them on the members page)
