The money will come out of his account sooner or later.  There probably is
a time limit but 4 weeks is not it.  P S and F T are/were having serious
problems with their processor and it probably a case of trying to catch
up.  Your friend should leave the money there--should be no big deal.  If
he closes his account and the e-check comes through then one of two things
will happen.  The bank will accept it since it was approved before the
account was closed and he will be liable for the money.  If he doesn't pay
the bank then he is in for more trouble than $500 is worth.
The bank refuses the echeck since the account is closed.  P S will
immediately close his account and will deduct what he owes from his stake.
If there is not enough then is account will remain closed until he pays.
People say that P S can't do anything about them collecting the money from
a customer because they do not operate in the U S.  Well, P S can try but
if they are un-successful they can sell the amount owed to a U S based
collection agency.  You sure don't want those problems.  Anyway, for $500
I doubt P S will do anything other than keeping the account closed until
it is paid.  For a lousy $500 the possible problems that could occur is
not worth it.  Tell your friend that quit trying to Welsh on a debt, the
money will come out sooner or later.
