Subject: Poker Stars giving "free deposits". Is it a glitch?
There have been numerous posts about Poker Stars not paying players who are
trying to withdraw their money.  However, there might be another problem at
Poker Stars.  I have talked to three people recently who said they deposited
money electronically from their checking accounts to their Poker Stars
accounts but Poker Stars did not do the electronic withdrawal from their
checking accounts to cover the deposits.  One guy said it's been almost four
weeks since he did the deposit on Poker Stars but the money is still sitting
in his checking account.  Now usually Poker Stars collects the payment for
deposits within a couple of days so maybe they are having some kind of
system problem. Now here's the question the guy asked me and I'll pass it
on.

He says he has a separate checking account that he only uses for online
poker deposits.  He had $500 in his account and deposited $500 in his Poker
Stars account.  Money transferred OK and he's been playing it on Poker
Stars.  So now, nearly a month later, the $500 is still sitting in his
checking account.  What could Poker Stars do if he just withdrew the $500
and closed the account?  With all the current controversy and negative
headlines about online poker/gambling, how aggressive is Poker Stars really
going to be in trying to collect their money?  What's your opinion?
