My local CBS affiliate did a taste test and decided that Knorr Roasted Turkey mix in the packet tastes the closest to home made, esp. if you add pan drippings. FWIW. I think it is smart to have a good brand around just in case.

Fleischmann's Yeast: Regular vs. Active

What would happen if Hihgly Active Yeast is used in place of regular Active yeast in making Indian flat bread (naan)? The recipe I plan to use is from youtube video by Manjula. She uses regular, I think, She lets the dough sit for 6 hours before baking it.

that you have a strong urge to make again just as soon as it is gone? For me it is pork and sauerkraut. Just finished the last of it, 2 lbs of country pork ribs and a large can of sauerkraut in a couple of days, by myself. :)

I discovered a resturant supply house in the DC area that sell used kitchen stuff. Lot of the skillets were beat to death, but there was a lot of other interesting stuff; I'll have to go back with a flashlight! Out of almonds - should I sub walnuts?

I want to make chocolate almond biscotti and not an almond in the house. I hate the idea of battling the supermkt crowds just for almonds. How do you think walnuts would do? Or just skip the nuts?
