Hi all, I have used Master Cook on W98 but now run Vista, All I used MC for was to input a small number of favorite recipes, primarily sausage recipes and use the quantity reformulater to adjust for various meat quantities.
For example; if I had a recipe that called for 15 pounds of meat, I could tell it that it was 15 servings and then after saving change the servings amounts as needed for various quantities of meat. Then the ingredients would be all recalculated!
Can anyone suggest a program for me to use that runs on vista, are there any free ones out there?
Lots of bad reviews on their own forum saying lots of issues, original program modified to run on newer systems. Just want a simple program that will save my recipes and change the ingredient amounts if I change amount served. Don't want pictures, nor canned recipes that I'll never use.

"Gourmet Recipe Manager" may work with windows 7. It's free, has a number of good points to include adjustable for number of servings, grocery listing, and importing from several formats.
Not free but works on Vista. If you don't want all the canned recipes, delete them and use your own. If you have your MasterCook recipes in .MX2 or .MXP format, you can import them.

I'm confused now. If you already have a program where you can change servings and amounts, were you looking for a web page that did the conversions for you? Isn't All Recipes the website where you can change the number of people you're serving and it changes the amounts for you? You'd have to submit your recipe first or use one of theirs.
I don't use recipe programs or that feature in All Recipes (if it's the correct site), so I have nothing useful to add.

If you cannot find a program to suit yourself, perhaps a pocket calculator or even pencil and paper. Of course, I'd probably do the calculations in my head.

Hi Barb
You are confused probably because I am not the OP who wanted the recipe adjuster. I answered the OP and was then given the above info by Sqwertz.
