Okay, there's now a song up
We've put up a track from our project, "The Great Baltimore Fire", in various resolutions including complete mp3 versions at 128, 192, and 320 kbps, and partial clips of wav files at 16/44.1 and 24/96: [link]

Kontakt 3 plug-ins used elsewhere?
Kontakt 3 has some very nice plugins, but I'd like to be able to use them elsewhere or at allow an input from other than the instrument wave files. Is there any way to do this? Thanks, John

Drop ceiling sound absorbtion products?
Can anyone recommend a specific product that's designed to fit into a suspended ceiling frame in order to get some sound absorption? I'm trying to reduce the reverb time in a conference room and I'm looking for something that will do the job without being too fancy (i.e. expensive.) Ideally it would also have enough strength to support a... more »

Worthless Wiecky attacks rationalism!
...1175509847.620594.287...@n7 6g2000hsh.googlegroups.com ...I've got the name and phone number of Peter's boss at the real estate leasing company. I found in my discussions with him that Peter has all the traits stereotypical of the "stuffed shirt" personality disorder. He's easy to get back into line, with the sharp rap of a 2x4 to his boss'... more »

I'm not too proud to admit that, like you, some of us are just significantly more intelligent than the average cretin here. In fact, the average cretin anywhere. Farfisa Transistors (sft532) substitute?
I have just picked up a nice Farfisa Campact. When I tried it out it worked nicely, aside from the verb and vibrato. When I got it home from a 10 mile drive, the C notes are acting up. Mostly by playing Bflats instead of C's. I suspect the C oscillator cards dividing transistors which are STE352 (germaniums /i beleive).... more »

Do you use a hardware compressor/limiter for initial vocal tracks?
I was under the impression that it's common to use a hardware compressor/limiter before the vocal hits the DAW to given an initial evening up - at least tame the big peaks and get in the ballpark, anticipating that more compression will be done with software later. That's what I do. However, I talked to a guy who doesn't use one and asserts that using... more »
