When I was shopping for a new computer, I settled for an older
model largely because it had PCI slots.
E-Mu makes the 1616m in a PCI-E version. If you like the way they
do things, you might consider upgrading to that, though it has lots more
inputs and outputs than your 0404. I wonder if you can buy just the

Seems like a USB-2 audio interface, of which EMu has a number good ones,
would be a potential solution.

A friend of mine from Seattle has a Lexicon LARES system installed in
the tracking
room of his studio. I'm sure I can get a decent sound card for $139!. Actually,
they have some of these on ebay for a reasonable price. The
problem is that they lift the PCI card above its normal position
by a half inch or so. I might have to modify the card or the
case for the I/O plate to fit properly.

I love my Emu 0404, but I just found out that my new
computer has no PCI slots - only PCI Express. So, I
need recommendations for a replacement. All I really
need is digital I/O, but a very clean audio out would
be good too.
Thanks

After a number of years, I have recently become aware of convolution. I
currently have a plug-in called SIR2, and I think I understand the basics,
but I need to go further. There are several musical instruments that have a
certain characteristic within a mix that I want to imitate and use in a
different mix. It was quite impossible to imitate the modified instruments

Not sure what "large diaphragm"
means in terms of a dynamic mic, exactly, but it sounds like that
would make it better suited for things like drums, bass, and organ.
The person selling it said he liked it on snare.
