  I recall when I was a kid (the 50s) people could smoke at will in movie &lt;br&gt; theaters. And did so. I do not recall that &amp;quot;most&amp;quot; people smoked. I have no &lt;br&gt; idea of the statistics, but only one person in my extended family smoked. &lt;br&gt; (He died of lung cancer, I might add.)
