We have a winner! Yes, Gale wrote that and sang it, and I'm pretty sure that she never realized that the tune was the same as 3 Coins in the Fountain. I just put two photos onto Facebook. Me with lots of hair and being a fake hippie... but not half as good as a photo of John with a ponytail. I only cut the hair after I had the babies 14 months apart. Pregnancy isn't good for hair quality! Fran

Sorry, Mark. I really didn't mean for you to get inundated with requests.
Personally. I've always wanted to go to start a trip in SF and them work my way across country back to the East Coast - probably dropping in on RAMmers on the way. If I ever win the lottery.... :)

You didn't need to fake it! That's a lot of hair. Remember how heavy it was? How long it took to dry? I had no problem with the pregnancy part, I'm one of those awful people who feels wonderful while pg, but long hair is a time sink. Then, too, all those times I nearly broke my neck because my hair was caught in a seat when I stood up. You looked great, though. Love the one with the guitar, Fran! Cute! Pseudo hippie, eh??

I don't remember that it took much longer than it does now to dry but I do remember untangling the terrible knots and getting hooked to all sorts of things! I've easily managed to remedy the skinny part... Fran (who got caught in a rose bush today with much shorter hair)

If you get queasy, don't read this.
Do you remember feeling a hair on your lip, and taking hold of it to remove it, only to discover that you have swallowed it, and as you pull it away from your lips, you feel it pulling for the entire length?

I have more resources now than I did 30 years ago so I like to stay in nicer places. No sense in being uncomfortable. When I was there it was just at the beginning of the AIDS crisis which folks din't really think it was a crisis so hotels like the Brothel probably went away long ago. I spent time on buses but mostly walked being in better shape back then.
I cruised the Castro, bought a sex toy that was illegal in Texas at them time (never got around to using it however) and walked all over Chinatown and around Coit Tower, Ghirardeli Square. Did all the tourist stuff, Gray Line tour of the city , Muir Woods, Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito etc. I was there 10 days and wanted to stay longer. SF is a really beautiful city and the weather was great but neat the coean it was very cold, One thing I remember on my last day there at teh airport leaving ther TVs were full of the news that Anwar Sadat had been assasinated and there was talk on the airplane abuot it. I recall it was a bumpy ride all the way home. Looking up Safdat it was in 1981 not 82 that I visited the place. Take care -- Stanley L.
