I requested the "print on multiple pages" feature in April (see post:
[link])
because our students too had lots of trouble printing their poster-
sized argument maps. Given the lack of the feature (see Dan's post from Austhink), I have a
suggestion for Austhink if this is possible/easy to do???

A "print preview" option in Rationale... so that one could see what
would be printed on an 8.5x11 from a given zoom size - or perhaps a
set of "margins" that indicate where a map would cut off, etc..

The simplest plan is to output the map as an image file. Then insert that image into Excel. In the page layout view, divide the image into convenient sizes. Print and tape the pieces together.

Brandon Nuttall

Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T

-----Original Message-----

To: rationale<rationale@googlegrou ps.com>

 Hi John,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to un-jumble a map once it has been
jumbled. The only way to bring it back is to either reload the file, or
reassemble it manually. It may take a while for a complex map, but the
ticks and crosses feedback in jumble mode will help you reassemble it

In addition to MS Paint, you can also insert the image into a spreadsheet
program and break it into separate pages. I've done this with MS Excel. I
haven't tried it with OpenOffice, but suspect it would work in that also.

Brandon Nuttall

 Dear iqu...,
Thank you for your inquiry.
Rationale licenses should enable 2 activations per license. So from
reading your inquiry it appears that you may in fact have three
activations that you could use to upgrade to Rationale 2. I hope this
is useful to you. In the future it is generally best to contact the

I just tried the new Jumble Map feature on quite a large map I was
working on, only to find to my annoyance that you cannot undo it!

Can I suggest either that you either introduce an undo feature for
this, or that you warn the user before they jumble the map that this
action cannot be undone?

 Hi,

I tried to contact Austhink, both through the contact form, and by
replying to their 2.x advertisement in my inbox. But I haven't
received a response, and recall that this happened before, with
Austhink.

I just purchased an upgrade for one of my laptops from 1.x to 2.x.
But I also had a separate 1.x license on a previous laptop, which had

Unfortunate pricing for Rational new Version 2.0.1.

I am looking forward trying out the latest Version of Rational. In the
past, I requested students to purchase a one year license which cost
under US$ 30. The price was a great attraction because I could assign
the software as just another book. I used it in a variety of books to
assist students with the paper writing process. However, the new price

 Hi everyone,

I'd love to be able to connect multiple ideas to multiple nodes within
a mindmap. For example, I teach Modern History and many of the
features, concepts and issues we deal with can link to a variety of
other ideas in varying ways and to varying degrees.

Is Austhink developing a changable connector button/feature that will
