I tried to contact Austhink, both through the contact form, and by
replying to their 2.x advertisement in my inbox. But I haven't
received a response, and recall that this happened before, with
Austhink.
I just purchased an upgrade for one of my laptops from 1.x to 2.x.
But I also had a separate 1.x license on a previous laptop, which had
to be returned to the vendor, after several failed repair attempts.
My current laptop is a replacement for that former laptop, and so I
purchased a new license for this laptop.
My question is, can I get an upgrade for the initial license, so that
it can be installed on one of my desktops? In other words, if
possible, I'd like to be able to install each of my licenses - after
upgrading - on a PC.
I understand if the license on the previous laptop cannot be
transferred, but would at least like to get a response.
Dear iqu...,
Thank you for your inquiry.
Rationale licenses should enable 2 activations per license. So from
reading your inquiry it appears that you may in fact have three
activations that you could use to upgrade to Rationale 2. I hope this
is useful to you. In the future it is generally best to contact the
Austhink support team directly for inquiries regarding specific
accounts, especially in regard to activation. This can be done via:
supp...@austhink.com
Kind Regards

Circolo, Perhaps I can explain things a little from the Austhink perspective.
It is true that some things have fallen through the cracks in terms of responding to enquiries. I regret this has been frustrating for you. We do think that most enquiries have been dealt with promptly, and are continually trying to improve our processes. We are however a small team, thinly stretched.
With the release of Rationale 2.0, we took a major step in a direction that began with the release of bCisive in March. Basically, since the original release of Rationale, we recognised that most of our users fall into one or the other of two camps - the educational users, and the workplace users - and that these are really very different groups. One product cannot adequately address both these groups at the same time. Hence we made a deliberate decision to move to a two-product approach - Rationale for the educational market, and bCisive for the workplace or "professional" market. This meant making Rationale more educational in its look & feel, feature set etc. We're not "all over the map"; rather, we have a clear product strategy, but it takes a while to get there.
We appreciate feedback from dedicated users. Thanks for bearing with us as we develop our offerings as expeditiously as we can.
Regards
Tim v.G.
