You can probably tell I didn't sleep very well last night....one more
thought. What about adding an online survey to draw people into the
space and help to find common topics of interest. We could use the 3
question structure of that video you found with a survey monkey linked
from Talking Point. What were those questions again?

Hi Chris,
This part of the project seems to be a project in itself. While the
way we have it set up will allow people to begin a topic and for those
topics to be listed well and for then to develop the description and
the basic jobs with others and then to develop them by using the
suggestions in the priority post, the space of course does not do

I was thinking that we need to develop a generic black and white A6
(1/4 of A4) Flyer that provides a pitch for the space and some of the
things that can be organised in it with a blank for a few local

We also need a place for a resource list. So that resources like
Freecycle and the hall at the Neighbourhood centre and the computers
at the library and the toy library can be advertised. This could be a
priority post in the events page because they would largely be
stagnant services that could just remain there.

Over a decade ago when I looked into the land tax idea I realised that Henry George did NOT rest on land tax, but saw it as a partial response to a problem that was rooted in a deep injustice. The NTW and the Co-operator addresses might be useful in promoting your interests once we start to promote those two forums, but the Hope Street forum is for a very local audience (residents and near neighbours of Hope Street Blaxland.

When I responded to your Community Builders plea for help it was my idea for you to think about whether you could do in Armidale what I was doing for Hope Street - set up your own local forum with an events calendar that would be of interest beyond your own interest group. As well as providing this public service, the spin-off for your own group would be that you might be able to reach a bigger audience in and around Armidale - that was what you said in Community Builders was your objective.

Hey Chris. Check out how these guys are growing tomatoes. They say
lots of other veggies can be grown the same way (hanging upside down).
All nutrients and water flow down they say doubling the results.
Little space needed, water and nutrient efficiency. They are selling
hangers but surely these could be easily made with a bit of thought.

The opening page gives a sales pitch but at the end of it people have to try to work out what to do - they have to realise they should go to the index and then decide from that. I've been lookng at the process for modern busy neighbours to be able to find each others interests - something to replace the old relaxed over the back fence, drop around for a cuppa etc ways that people used to find out about each other.

The attached papers try to identify something that gets a bit more specific about stimulating and translating an initial personal interest into an outreach and connection with neighbours - some way to bring people to the forum here people might discover more about other interests in their neighbourhood.
