Hi Everybody!

It is only two weeks until our BM Community Congress Event on Tuesday, 13 October 2009, at the Mid Mountains Community Centre in Lawson!!! This event is entirely free of charge!
This is a great opportunity for local workers, carers, activists and other concerned individuals to come together – exploring local approaches to some key issues effecting our community: transport, workers’ isolation, community events, food and sustainable living.
Please RSVP by Friday, 2 October 2009 – places are limited! When you RSVP, your name will be put forward in an Early Bird Prize Draw. Please indicate your workshop preferences, and if you have any special requirements. All details and RSVP form are in the attached invitation.
As the event is during school holidays, you may choose to only participate in one part of the day. MOCS Mobile Minders are providing childcare, so please let us know if you are planning you bring your children.

Here is an overview of the workshops you can choose from:
Morning
Getting from A to B - Facilitator: Hugh Worrall - explores issues of travel for Blue Mountains residents, including special interest groups, in both public and private aspects.
or
You are not alone - Facilitator: Mary Waterford – looks at breaking down isolation among community workers.

Afternoon
Bringing People Together - Facilitator: Judith Hawkes - explores methods of organising community events incorporating community development principles.
or
You are What You Eat - Facilitator: Jo Hibbert – discusses how to achieve optimum value in food for various groups, along the life continuum from children to the elderly.
or
Happy People Healthy Park - Facilitator: Jasmine Payget - explores ways of how working together can help our community live more sustainably next door to the World Heritage Blue Mountains National Park

Please spread the word, and forward this invitation on to anyone you know who may be interested.
Looking forward to seeing you there!

Kind regards,

Can Yasmut
MCRN Team Leader / CDW
on behalf of the Congress Working Party
