Subject: Cooperator page

Hi Alex,

The opening page gives a sales pitch but at the end of it people have to try to work out what to do  - they have to realise they should go to the index and then decide from that. I think we need to lead them from the sales pitch to the index and we need to simplify the index and create a more logical order.

It would also help if they had already seen a step by step explanation rather than having to work out what to do from the poster. I think we could give each step a seperate www. page with a clear explanation before leaving them with the poster to print and write stuff on to.

When we set up this page we were working towards an on line interactive cooperator.

As it stands, people have to use a printed version and hand write stuff - this is not clear. Margaret was looking to type into the poster.

I know it is a techical step rather than just layout and wording as the above require but I'm sure that it would be an improvement if they could compile a list for each step (by clicking for a call out box or something, or a word doc even) while on line.

Chris

Hi Chris, see below.

Perhaps the Co-operator link can appear under the pitch. I did try and
put the links in a bit of a logical order - although I didn't put a
lot of thought into it.

The poster was supposed to be self-explanatory - perhaps it isn't. I
have also been concerned about how easy it is to use.

Yes this is all a bit unclear - although it does say 'just print and use'.

Perhaps - it all seems a bit unclear to me right now. Something like
what you suggest could be done in a word document that would allow
people to type into the text boxes. Although it seems to me like the
role of each component (the video, the poster, a template??, the
forum, the thinking behind the Co-operator, what's online what's
offline) and how they all fit together needs to be considered before
any specific thing is done to the poster. I'm also concerned about
mucking around with it with technology that doesn't really work very
well.

I might be a bit slow to figure all this out right at the moment as
I'm a bit buried in my thesis writing right now.

Alex

Hi Alex,

Yes I know you are quite busy - I didn't expect any attention at the moment, just wanted to register things as they come up. I will continue to work on the HSN page and its links - something good might come out of that. Using this Google technology I am quite restricted and that might prove to be a good thing.

As you say, there are so many elements to consider that it is probably better that I have time alone to work on it so that at least I might be able to get a holistic view before charging off in any direction ... so don't worry about these things just now. It will be a conversation at the right time and I don't have enough clarity to contribute anything meaningful anyhow yet.

Chris
