I was having a good hunt around on the Internet earlier this week, and
there really isn't many options for getting and Android based phone as
part of a "telco deal". The HTC Dream I think is the only one I found
with deals (perhaps Tattoo as well, but definitely not the Hero). I
think the HTC Dream is already obsolete (also, I believe the Hero is

HTC Hero is a nice phone - I've never had an iPhone, so can't directly
compare, and I'm not 100% sure which features are standard Android,
and which are HTC specials, but here are my reactions so far:

- Battery life seems adequate - not great, but if I charge it every
night, I don't run out unless I use seriously power-hogging stuff like

Got the Hero, personally I freakin' love it. I have the Euro version
(ordered from the UK well before the release here), I think it's
extremely slick. I'm not really comparing it to the iPhone (not having
used one extensively), but compared to my old Windows Mobile phone it's
just... wow, so THIS is what smartphones were supposed to be like all

Read recently that the HTC Hero (Euro version fortunately, not USA
Sprint version) and HTC Tattoo (cheaper, no multitouch) are retailing
at Harvey Norman and not through a telco deal. Experience reports from
phandroids?

 Hi all,
Cogent Consulting has been working on a hosted code analysis
application for a while now, which we've called Codeyak. Some of you
have probably seen one of us talk about it at a user group meeting or
at Railscamp. It runs code quality analysis tools across every
revision in history for your project, to very quickly give you an idea
