just tried mobile firefox on Windows NT 4.0 Build 1381 but startmobilefirefox.exe crahed showing dr. watson with some access violation excpetion. As i would like to make my mobile firefox based multi media cd work on as many systems as possible, it would be great if you could find a fix for this. Any ideas?
You're in luck. I was able to find a Win NT CD from my days learning to become an Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. I will load it up in VMWare Server and then see if there is a way to get Mobile Firefox working on Windows NT.
Also note that I did some testing of Windows 98 and found a bug a problem. I will put a new version of Mobile Firefox on mobilefirefox.com later today.

If found the problem on Windows NT. Part of the Windows API that I need doesn't exist on Windows NT. I have one idea for a work around. Will let you know when I get it working.

my multimedia cd will probably be released end of next week. I'd be very happy to include your fix for Windows NT 4.0 if available. Is there any chance you can get it working that soon?
I have got it to work on NT. However the changes I made it not work on the newer operating systems. So I have to work on it more and limit the change to only affect Windows NT.
By the way in order for Firefox to work on NT it has to have a service pack installed. The oldest service pack I could find was Service Pack 4. I installed it and then Firefox was able to run. If you have access to an earlier service pack then test it and let me know.

The version of Mobile Firefox that fixes the NT issues is now available for download at http://mobilefirefox.com. Getting NT to work while maintaining compatibility with Windows 98, XP, W2K took several hours. If you appreciate Mobile Firefox and want to donate to the project there is a now a donation link at http://mobilefirefox.com. Any amount would be welcome. Can't afford to donate? Then please link to http://mobilefirefox.com on an appropriate message board or blog.
When I'm not building Mobile Firefox I do contract work. If you would like to get Mobile Firefox .exe and icons modified to for your project I can change the icons, modify the .exe filenames, re-arrange or hide all the menus, or other customizations.
