managers - it is an issue that has been mentioned several times
throughout the research process.

An event network is a great idea. Anything that can help in managing
the very limited resources (time, people, money & equipment) that exist
along the mnc has to be a good thing. A network is only as good as its
members though! For it to work will require somebody driven to keep it
all moving along - too often these networks establish themselves only

Richard Old at Great Lakes Tourism has been a great source of support
for us in Tea Gardens Hawks Nest, considering the paltry size of his
budget.
He has helped us by:
- forwarding our press releases to his database of media contacts
- paying for some advertising
- distributing material to regional VIC's

I would expect the following from an event network:
1. A small fee for membership
2. A forum such as this
3. Regular meetings (say, quarterly) which would include an update on
what everyone is doing, and a focus session on a subject like public
liability, risk management, advertising and marketing events, sourcing
