Sure. All it takes is hot peanut oil and a mandolin to makes the thin slices. They'll taste great, but the process is very time consuming and fattening.

Don't and don't fry anything in the house either. The oil vapors get deposited on everything and you will never get the smell of developing rancid oil out of your carpets, curtains and much else. Tacky oil deposits pick up a lot of lint too.

i used a potato peeler to make the slices. but i agree that it's time consuming and the chips are usually gone by the time you finish.

There's a farmer's market in Gilbertsville, PA called Zern's where they make homemade potato chips. All they do is slice the potatoes thin and dump them in a vat of hot peanut oil for a couple of minutes, then they remove them from the oil and lightly salt them. Those chips are amazing!
