Subject: do not fear change
vp qld.
It is good to see a debate about change, but at the end of the day we
all have one thing in mind, that is the well being and growth of the
club. The sole of this club is fun, and acting as a family.
I have been around speedway for 45 yrs and with the micro's for 18 yrs,
and every time there is a change suggested out comes the fear facture,
the rumour mongers start and it grows a head of it's own, my advice is
if you don't know, ask the people who do know and ask lots of questions.
To give you a case history many years ago 250/260 speed cars ran air
cooled motors which were unreliable at best and would over heat, getting
slower the further you raced, so along comes a guy with a water cooled
motor, instead of asking questions and embracing technology the rumour
mill grew two heads and tried to ban the motor, but look were we are
today, the same when twins came on board and the same when wings were
introduced and we became the micro's.
And now we have the 450 issue, boy haven't I heard some funny storeys
about that one, From were I'm sitting it is very much a win win
situation as it now give's people a choice and encourages new members
and growth in the club.
Now all states must sit down and put together a national rule book that
only has the well being of the micro's at heart and not individuals.
