  It&#39;s quite possible that the registry entry for the program location is &lt;br&gt; either missing or corrupt, I might try to reinstall the program to &lt;br&gt; resolve any missing registry info.

  Yes. Almost the same problem. The Service Pack 3 update (which takes forever) &lt;br&gt; gets near the end and errors out. Then everything has to be undone (which &lt;br&gt; takes forever) and the computer has to restart. The update notification icon &lt;br&gt; is always on and the SP3 always crashes. There is some way of getting help
