Having issues installing these update and everytime I go to install them it has 0kbs and 0 time remaining and its getting annoying. Im running Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 SP3 and I have no idea what the problem is. If I could get the safest and smartest soultion I would be grateful. Thank you

I'm having the same issue. Failed: 1 important update Cumulative Security Update for I.E. 8 (KB974455) Code: 80070570 My computer runs Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1.

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall (if any)?

2. Delete the contents of the Download folder:
Start > Run > (type in) %windir%\SoftwareDistribution > [OK] Open the Download folder and delete its contents Close the window.
3. Start the Automatic Updates service:
Start > Run > (type in) services.msc > [OK] Double-click Automatic Updates > Click on Start (Starting the service will take a moment)
4. Go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com | Select CUSTOM and scan | Install any Critical Security Updates offered (i.e., KB972260). If a Root Certificates update is listed in the Optional Updates category, install it to take full advantage of IE's enhanced security.
TIP: Do NOT install IE8 if offered. Hide it instead, for now.

Okay I did everything and all the way up to the custom scan for updates it start messing up. I picked just eh security updates: Security Update for Windows XP (KB956572) Security Update for Windows XP (KB969947) And it failed right away....then I tried one by one and they got aobut 25% installed and failed.....so....yeah......

What anti-virus application was installed before you installed spyware doctor with antivirus and was your subscription still current when you installed spyware doctor with antivirus?

The antiviruse that was installed before was AVG free antivirus until i caught some spyware call security tool and i got syware doctor with antivirus and I never did a repair install or WinXp
