I keep getting this error whenever I try to install the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 Security Update. It keeps popping up for me to install it, but then doesn't install it. Even if I try to download it directly from the Microsoft Update Web site, it keeps giving me the error. What can I do to fix this problem so my computer actually downloads the update and stops bugging me?

When you try to install an update for the .NET Framework 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, or 3.5, you may receive Windows Update error code "0x643" or Windows Installer error code "1603" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923100

when i try to install any of the .NET framework versions, i get the error that says dotnetinstalblock. and then it won't install .NET. i have also gone direstly to the .NEt framework website and it sell won't work. not having .NEt framwork 3.5 is preventing me from using other software.
