Mohit,
from TAPISRV perspective there are no restrictions,
but of course from the telephony device.
So it is upto each TSP to support what is technical possible for itsdevice.
For TSPI_lineGenerateTone() / TSPI_lineGenerateDigits() you need a
pre-existing call (i.e. a hdCall),
so it cannot be a replacement for TSPI_lineMakeCall().

No, it does not state that the digits will be generated when the call state
is connected. it was my interpretation as it says that these functions are
used to generate the digits or tones in in-band and my interpretation of
in-band is within speech.
Yes, i had thaught of these two conditions but i was not fully satisfied

Mohit,
this entirely depends on the telephony device and its capabilities.
E.g. there are PBXs that can be requested (e.g. via CSTA) to generateDigits
or generateTelephonyTones.
On the other hand: if your TSP/MSP/waveDriver is doing media already, then
you could add tone/digit generation in these componenets.

Can any one tell me that does the MSP is required to generate tone or digits
over the call?

Hi friends,
I have a confusion in the TSPI_lineGenerateDigits().
It says that it is used to generate the in-band digits for the call, i.e.,
the digits will be generated when the call state is Connected.
But in Remarks, it says that the call state of hdCall can be any state.
So how is it possible or where it is used to generate the Digits before call

solely the TSP maintains the call states.
The TSP sends LINE_CALLSTAE messages to TAPISRV,
TAPISRV passes these messages to TAPI apps monitoring this call.

It seems a PBX manufacturer isn't followomg the TAPI spec for sending
messages about a call after it has entered the idle state. We
deallocate the call as soon as it goes idle and have seen now that a
new version of the TSP for a major PBX manufacturer changed its
behavior and "broke" our code.

How about the MSDN help? Did you see where I see the help for
lineOpen says to limit messages to a single address you must set
dwAddresMode = LINEADDRESSMODE_ADDRESSID, yet in the LINECALLPARAMS

Hi!
I am playing around with atsp32 sample. Building, installing and
configuration works fine. When I start dialer.exe, I can see the lines
offered by atsp32. But when I choose a line and press OK, dialer.exe
does not accept it, because next time when I enter the configuration the
line for phone calls is switched back to <automatic selection>.

does every client user use a different TAPI line device?
Is each TAPI line device only used by one client user?
I.e. how is the mapping in TAPIMGMT.msc?
Test to exclude client/server issues:
please disable Telephony Server checkbox in TAPIMGMT.msc
and try to MakeCall from multiple instances of Phone.exe with the same line

with users i mean multible PCs using MS TAPI client/server
architecture (i.e. TCMsetup.exe )
and i used JulMar's Phone.exe to reproduce the steps of our program
we also used JulMar's tcmon.exe for monitoring and it seems that there
are still calls that have the status "unknown"

- Multiple instances of your TAPI app on the same PC?
- Multiple TAPI line devices user by your TAPI app on the same PC?
- Multiple PCs using MS TAPI client/server architecture (i.e. TCMsetup.exe
and RemoteSP.TSP)?
- Anything else?
