if you have version conflicts like the project been developed in 2003 and if you try running in 2005 or earlier, surly the virtual dirctories which are automatically created by 2005 may not suitable for the 2003 so you install 2003 first, then move your source code from that location, it is better if you have a fresh copy, configure your web config and now manualy stop the iis and create a virtual dirctory ,if you use third party tools like ig_common and if it is necessary to allocate virtual directory for them too, do it. and now run your project . hope it most works

Is it possible to set up VS2008 for remote debugging like old good 6.0?
That means: i have an application running on the remote PC, i have my
project (sources) on the laptop, i press F5 and my application magically

I've find myself in the same situation (couldn't make use of "^") but a "new line" seems to do the trick.
In my case I wanted to build a make to replace spaces with tabs, so:
'{(^|\n)\t*} ' > '\1\t'
As a side note: I couldn't use '(?<=^|\n)' for some reason, maybe it doesn't support to look behind.

I'm using VS 2008. I have some C# code and I'd like to break whenever a
variable changes, regardless of what code changes it -- in other words, I'd
like to say, "Whenever this variable changes its value, break."

It turns out that you need not only the .dll files, but the .manifest files as well. Once done, it will register correctly.
