Understanding MOSS Search

Hi,
We are trying to understand the results we are receiving when we are
using MOSS Search. We would like to know the following:
1. Does index work on all the document content or only on the
metadata? to my understanding it works on all the document data. If
so:
2. Does the search work with an "AND" between all the search phrases?

Established a SharePoint document Library and on the whole things are
good with the exception that the following library properties don't
prepopulate from the Word document's properties when uploading:-
1. "Document Number" (single line text) - In the uploaded doc it is a
custom property of type text.

Can't add link to Tope Link Bar on my site in sharepoint?

I want to add a link to the overall home page from My Site in Sharepoint.
Went to MySite > Site Settings> Top Link bar and added the url and description but nothing is showing up.
Any thoughts?

OK, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong here. I'm trying to create

When importing to a blank site, the import command:
STSADM -o import -url <url> -filename <file.cab> -includeusersecurity

Long dropdowns in a lookup field

Here's the problem: If you have a lookup pointing to a really long
list, it gets irritating for the users (or doesn't even return all the
values). Has anyone found a different solution for lookups besides the
OOB dropdown menus?

i am trying to perform a catastropic backup of a sharepoint site and
the command goes like this
stsadm.exe -o backup -directory \\TEST\TestBackup\ -backupmethod full,
on running the same i get the below error..
"insufficient memory to continue the execution of the program"
can anybody help me out to solve this..
