2003 Can I stop the 'update links' option when file is opened?

It seems I should be able to do this via the 'links' then 'startup prompt' options. But whichever one of the three options here that I choose seems to make no difference. When the file is saved and reopened I'm still asked to update links again. The settings are saved, so it still says "don't display the alert", but it does. Is... more »

In Excel 2003 or less a hyperlink could be formed as: [link] to link to anywhere in a workbook. Excel 2007 always defaults to the first Worksheet and the worksheet location is stripped. Has any experienced this or have any knowledge as to why the reference is no... more »

I have a spreadsheet with hyperlinks to a folder containing different types of docs. - .xls .doc .ppt .pdf. The hyperlink goes to the folder but does not open(run) the file. Hello, My worksheet contains hypperlinks to PDF files. It works but opens Adobe reader. I would need this action to start another application (PDF Xchange Viewer wich is already default app in Windows). Please could somebody tell me if it is possible and how ? I have several (source) spreadsheets from several people that are saved in the same folder. These spreadsheets are formatted the same. I have ComboBoxes in certain cells to help keep data entered uniform for reporting purposes. I also have a "Master Workbook" that contains a duplicate of each (Destination) spreadsheet. If I have an Excel document that links to other Excel documents and I update this document which does affect the linked documents, when does that linking take place? Do all the linked files need to be open when the initial document is edited or do the linked Excel documents update the next time they are opened?... more »
