Apparently some people can get a private beta now but there is no open beta
yet. No release date has been announced.

Hello!
My company is in the same boat. We developed our app around ADAM and it now
appears we must install an expensive server to get this functionality. This
lack of guidance from Microsoft has put us into a mode of evaluating open
source LDAP.
This is a yes or no question. Why is there no answer at this late date?

I have been using Authorization manager with ASP.net for several years. All
instances have been on a windows 2003 server. I have recently started moving
my web apps to a window 2008 server. I found that the COM interop need to be

You'd need to check the logs generated by your app to see if the account
obtained from SQL was correct in the first place. If it was, you'd need to
post the part of the code that searches AD for the user; <search
base>;LDAPFilter, what your app logged as the found account, then how you
bound to the user object, and what your app logged as the bound object.

Hi,
I'm facing very strange problem. I have a program which connects to
SQL database and picks up employee records one by one and then the
same record is searched in the AD (Windows 2003 Server) using LDAP
fields like UserPrincipalName, ObjectCategory and ObjectClass. It then
updates fields like first name, last name, reporting manager.

Will AD LDS be supported in Windows 7?
