There has been much interest of late in retirement, assisted-living, catered-for-your-lifestyle communities exclusively for Gay & Lesbian single and partnered couples. This goes hand-in-hand with an increasing interest in developing assisted-living facilities & communities that cater to the so-called ' baby-boomers ' who are set to retire.
These would be built in areas of North America that have shown themselves to be ` open ` to such communities/ventures. Areas such as MS, AL, GA, LA, AZ, NM, NV, CA, and, dare I say it---even TX, etc. would be options where, with careful planning, the land, building costs, living costs, etc. are reasonably inexpensive. ( " Sister "-forgive the word-communities for beach bums, sailors, deep-sea fishermen/persons, RVers, etc. might be feasible in coastal Sonora ( examples would be San Carlos/Guaymas, Kino Bay, etc.) & Baja California ( examples here would be Loreto, La Paz, etc.), that is, along the shores of the Sea of Cortez/Gulf of California, MX. and some sort of monitored swapping/exchange of housing could be arranged between the various communities' owners---variety being, as they say- the " spice of life ".)
For the most part, sunnier climes would be favored.
The communities would be marketed to maturer Gays & Lesbians through mailings, the Internet ( Groups on Yahoo!, Google, MSN, etc. known to be favored by ` alternative lifestyle ` guys & gals), through TV, radio, print ads, word-of-mouth, etc.
Both single residences, condos, shared and fractional ownership, time- share ownership, part-time occupancy, etc. would be explored.
Businesses & professionals ( e.g, Doctors, Lawyers, Accountants, maintenance folks, police, firemen, etc.) who are of like ilk to ourselves would be recruited to give service to these communities.
Considering our benefit to some smaller towns & cities across America (& MX) and the potential added value to these regions, our presence would be welcomed.
This is a feasibility study, and is directed at folks who might have an opinion on these matters & who might, given the right set of circumstances, be interested in ownership, renting, leasing, etc. in such communities.
The Doctor ( M.D., MBA) behind this invitation for input is Dr. Chris Cronin & your opinions/ideas/comments are invited, nay, solicited, to:
I would not unreservedly recommend San Carlos, Sonora, MX as there is a branch of The John Birch Society operating there, it would appear. It is NOT truly Mexico, rather, Boot Camp South of USA where a lot of veterans of failed American Wars hang out, drink, and commissurate w/ each other.
Not a good vacation spot for anyone, as they want all to conform to their USA/American way of ' thinking ', NOT reasoning, mind you,...often brow-beating the locals [ Mexicans] to doing things their way by the power of the ' Yankee $$$ '.!
No!. avoid San Carlos/Nueva Guaymas cpmpletely. You live w/ Fox News every nite at home...you don't need to vacation w/ the vermin.
