This message is just to summarise all of the known autistic spectrum social groups and events in and around Melbourne.

Auties.org has a list of various social groups.  The dinner clubs in particular are often nice events when people turn up.

Auties.org's Calendar.  Please note that the Brunswick dinner club can now be considered defunct and the Footscray dinner club is run only occasionaly at this point.

Alpha runs a social club for people on the spectrum.  Each activity usually has about 10-20 people turning up depending on the activity.

ASSN runs a monthly social group for people on the spectrum.  You have to ring them to get the details and I have never been so I can't comment on what it's like there.

Melbourne.au Auties (this group) has a calendar which will hold as much event info from the above groups as possible. It is public access, so feel free to put your own stuff in. :-)

There are also PLENTY of clubs and societies in Melbourne that promote "typical" autistic spectrum interests, such as the Melbourne Science Fiction Club and Linux Users of Victoria.  I can't possibly list all of them however Melbourne is quite a geek friendly city in this respect.
