Howdy,
I am new to this group, I am interested in forming a social group,
inner city melbourne, pretty much close to the city would be the
preference.
I have aspberger's syndrome, am 37 years of age.
The type of group I am interested in forming would be male and
females, aged between say, 25 and 37, who would like to see a film or
even just meet up for a friendly coffee somewhere.

Hello Matt, I think this is already a social group that meets in inner city Melbourne. Our numbers are already quite low without your strange age restrictions. Why would your own age be the upper limit? What are you going to do after your next birthday, just drop out?
A film sounds good, we haven't done that before. Why don't you just suggest a date/time/place/activity for a meet and ask people to respond here if they intend being a part of it?
That's how it has worked to this point (although John is the one who has made the dates, etc).

I agree, no need for age restrictions.

Hardest thing might be choosing a movie that everyone will like, but a good idea if time is made for socialising before and/or after the movie.
