Box+Dice Software

Box+Dice Software is a small, agile software company specialising in  
software for the Real Estate industry.  We're looking for a full time  
Ruby on Rails developer to help implement some cool new products that  
we're itching to show our customers.

We're in the early stages of adopting Ruby on Rails, and because we're  
a small business, you'll be across a lot of new technologies and be a  
part of making it all happen.  We need someone who is passionate about  
clean, beautiful and readable (Ruby) code, and understands how good  
application design can lead to higher scalability.

We're based in Melbourne, close to the CBD.  We need someone to work  
amongst the team here in the office, so you'd have to be based in  
Melbourne.

What you need to have:
* 3-4 years experience in web application development
* Experience in either Ruby, Java, Python, Perl or PHP
* Some knowledge of Ruby on Rails
* A solid understanding of MVC application design
* Experience with Javascript, XHTML, CSS and development of web-based  
user interfaces
* Loves to stay DRY
* Says "No" to table based layouts
* Excellent problem solving skills
* Skilled in object oriented design
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Exposure to Linux deployment and system administration concepts
* Competent knowledge of SQL

Extra points for:
* Exposure to REST and Web Service API integration
* Experience with Web app + MySQL performance and scaling
* Experience with Capistrano
* Experience with Subversion
* Interest in agile development practices
* Familiarity with either Test Driven Development or Behaviour Driven  
Development
