I can create a sites.google.com account for the project for website hosting. I've used it for other projects and it works great.

I just put in a request for being added to the KDE bugzilla, and ill send out an email on the google sites account once its created.

I'm still looking at Website Hosting. KDE will do tracking for libqinfinity
and kobby in bugs.kde.org if you are willing to. What do you need on the
website? If you would like to request the entries on bugs.kde.org then

Wow I"m late on jumping in on this :-) Ok here are my thoughts at least on a
desktop level I've already pitched my concept of clients being able to be
light or heavy servers. I also don't see any reason why they cannot be light
and heavy clients. A heavy client would be one that tries to tie together

I have also been researching this new technology and trying to determine its
possible impacts on existing collaborative applications. While Wave seems to
offer a slew of collaborative features, it seems like it would be very difficult
to integrate all of these in a client-side feature-rich editor, like Kate.

Creating and joining a MUC (a channel in XMPP speak) is pretty trivial
and definitely should be worked into the architecture.

I just saw a demo of Google WAVE recently and really liked what they
had implemented.

That makes sense. Something else that could be done, is creating a chat
plugin for libinfinity similar to the InfText plugin, but with chat operations
instead of insert/remove text operations. I dont see any reason why this
wouldnt work, and clients which dont recognize the plugin would not be

Just had a light chat with the devs and they had wanted caht removed from
the API altogether. I have yet to speak to the person (ck) who has final
word on this but I'm thinking that it falls more in ine with the original
submission that I had made of having a light serer that focuses solely on
the document and sharing it and a heavier specification that is much more

I was speaking from a purely API standpoint, my knowledge of jabber is
somewhat lacking. Creating chat outside of a document would mean major
changes to the libinfinity API because user information is specified on a per-

I did some digging around in the libinfinity API for communication features,
and AFAICT there are no document or server level user to user chat facilities
in the library. This could be (relatively) easily added on a document level
via a note plugin without having to modify libinfinity. Ill send out a message

the libqinfinity is finished. Now i try to build kobby. The Package
builds to the *.desktop File. You use meeting-attendend.png in the
*.desktop File. But the Icon is not included.

writing CMakeScripts. I found a solution in kdelibs that doesnt require
hardcoding the /usr/lib64 path into the Find script. If you could test this

Thats odd, I would think those directories would be symlinked? Does it
work if you set the find_path( GLIB_LIB_INCLUDE_DIR to search in /usr/lib64?

removed the project from the listing btw) I would say mail the mailing
list but as noted the project has been removed from a GS0C
consideration. There is interest in the direction so it's worth it to

I just was looking at hte KDE GS0C projects and one of them is Koffce doing
collborative editing. Anyone interested in working with them with
libinfinity-qt ? It would be good for them to start working on it as well as
good for libinfinity to have another project using it to start breaking it
in untold interesting ways :-)

might be is that Gobby now uses libinfinity-0.2 while libinfinitymm wraps
version 0.1.2, but this should change pretty soon.

I agree that I may have been keeping it a little too low of a profile:
school started just before the end of GSoC and I've been trying to spend
most of my spare time on the actual editor. I was planning on making a
post near the start of my winter break in a week and a half, once I have
a nice amount of spare time.
