Soccer Rego Fees Please Read

To those that consider football rego fees too expensive. We ask you to consider it in a different context.

Firstly lets consider some other childrens hobbies -

  • Dance $8 per group lesson or $25 per half hour individual lesson plus competition fees
  • Martial Arts $6 per lesson plus competition fees
  • Music Instrumental Lessons $18 - $30 per half hour plus competition fees
  • Singing Lessons $18 - $25 per half hour plus competition fees
  • Motorbikes - $237 pa licence fee plus $25 per race day for one class plus costs.
  • Rugby League - $50 p.a. plus injuries more often and more serious
  • AFL - $75 pa. plus injuries more often and more serious
  • Rugby Union - infrequently organised

Saints provides 16 competition rounds, 16 to 20+ training sessions, 0 to 5 round robins. That equates to approximateley a minimum of 25 hours and realistically 30+ hours in the younger teams and 50+ hours in the older teams. This translates to a cost of between $1.33 per half hour to a maximum of $2.40 per half hour.  When comparing that to most other activites above soccer is extremely cheap.

So in context, yes football (soccer) is more expensive then other ball sports, however, it is significantly cheaper than most other activities and when you consider your also getting the coaching and tuition of accredited coaches this is very cheap indeed.

The only complaint we have as a club is that most of these rego fees are syphoned off by our governing bodies and Saints has to fund raise regularly to keep these fees reasonable for you whilst being able to continually improve the club..
