It's the weekly Japanese Language Exchange group and English language
conversations group on Tuesday but this one is a bit special for me.
Firstly, I'll be there early, from about 6.30pm, to celebrate my
birthday with a few friends. You're welcome to buy a drink and join
the group at that time if you wish.
Secondly it'll probably be my last New Windsor Hotel meet for awhile.
It's been fun. If I don't see you on Tuesday 18th I hope to catch up
with you some other time and place.
If you arrive between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Tuesday to buy a drink at
the bar you'll find that the barpeople usually flip a coin and ask you
'heads or tails?'. If you choose correctly you won't have to pay for
your drink. If you choose incorrectly you pay the normal price. Worth
coming before 7.30pm!
On a different note, TESOL International is looking for volunteers for
their trainee teachers. If you're available 4pm to 5pm on Tuesday
25th, Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th August, you can join in the
free private lesson sessions. We need 4 volunteers to attend all 3
lessons.
In the first lesson you'll be asked questions and recorded. Your
answers will later be analysed so that in the second lesson you
receive a targeted lesson focusing on particular problems with your
English. In the 3rd lesson there'll be more exercises to help you as
well as notes made of your progression between lessons.
If you can commit to all three lessons, please email
i...@adultenglishschool.com with your details and mobile number and
we'll send you an email to confirm your place in the mini course and
other details.
If you'd like to know more you can talk to me at the pub on Tuesday
night!
Hope to see you at the New Windsor Hotel corner of Castlereagh and
Park Sts in Sydney city.
I'm sorry I missed your email and now I remember it was your birthday on Tuesday. I missed to buy tons of glass of beers for you.
Happy birthday!!!
(Please let me buy beer or dinner next time we meet)
I think you'll be busy for a while for your TESOL course. is it the reason you can't join the group for a while?
Anyhow, I hope everything are going well.
I will do my best to commit my organiser tasks during your absence.
Good luck.
I look forward to seeing you next time.

Is this info up-to-date? I came to the bar at 7:40ish and won a free
beer on the toss, had my beer at the round tables, there was no sign
of any language group and no-one speaking japanese? Im not sure now -
is it 6:30 or 7:30? Anyway it didnt look like a place to go around
asking random people for a chat, so I wonder was I at the right place/
time? I am quite keen to meet up with this group if it still operates!
thanks
jim

The 6.30pm time was just for a party I had a few months ago. 7.30pm is
the official start time but actually most people don't start turning
up until 8.30pm to 9pm with a large number usually turning up around
9.30pm, straight from work. I will be at the first November meeting
around 9pm so hope to see you there!
